Vietnam Hanoi Mission

The Vietnam Hanoi Mission will be created from a division of the Cambodia Phnom Penh Mission during the first half of 2016.

On January 7, 2016, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the formation of the Vietnam Hanoi Mission.

The Vietnam Hanoi Mission will be created from the Cambodia Phnom Penh Mission, which for several years has included Vietnamese-speaking missionaries who serve in Vietnam.  Often called branch builders in Vietnam, missionaries in the Vietnam Hanoi Mission will continue to strengthen local members and branches. President Lewis Hassell, who has been serving in Vietnam as part of the Cambodia Phnom Penh Mission since May 2015, will preside over the new mission. He will be accompanied by his wife, Sister Mary Bliss Hassell.
